Hot Topics is a series published by us four times a year about recent changes and current debates in the law. It's written by experts in the field and each issue includes case studies and contacts. For current issues contact us or your local public library. All NSW public libraries receive Hot Topics.

Hot Topics can be ordered individually or as a subscription. Issues are $22.00 each (from no 51 onwards), and a subscription is $82.50.

Health and the law (64)

Provides an overview of the many areas of regulation relating to our health, such as medicines, medical treatment, hospitals, health professionals, privacy of information and emerging medical technologies. Includes examples of end of life court decisions and of many ethical dilemmas relating to health care. Important legal concepts such as duty of care and informed consent are also explained.

Neighbours - special issue

This issue covers the legal framework relating to neighbourhood issues. there are chapters on ownership and other interest in land, residential parks, retirement villages, public housing tenancy, and the role of mediation. It covers trees, dividing fences and retaining walls, land use and development, noise and animals, violence and harassment and the role of apprehended violence orders.
